AuctionNovice Posted 28/08/2024 Share Posted 28/08/2024 Hey everyone, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and trying a repo auction at NC Repo Zone. Anyone have experience with them? Any tips for a newbie? I'm kinda nervous about getting ripped off or buying a lemon.
MechanicMike Posted 29/08/2024 Share Posted 29/08/2024 AuctionNovice, I've been inspecting cars for folks at NC Repo Zone for a few years now. They're legit, not a scam. The auction process is pretty straightforward. Definitely take advantage of the inspection period before you bid. You can usually pop the hood and check fluids, maybe get under the car if you're lucky. Don't expect a full diagnostic though. They have their weaknesses, but they also have incredible bargains. Check out ncrepozone.com for auction listings and rules.
BargainHunter81 Posted 29/08/2024 Share Posted 29/08/2024 MechanicMike's right. I've bought a few cars from NC Repo Zone. The auction staff are pretty helpful, and they usually try to be upfront about what they know. I've always had good luck. One thing for sure, always check the title carefully. I had to call them once about title transfer, and they helped me the next day. You can call them at +1 866-930-3429 if you have any questions. They want your biz! RepoRookie Posted 29/08/2024 Share Posted 29/08/2024 I went to NC Repo Zone a few months back. It was a bit overwhelming at first. The actual auction moves FAST! I didn't know what to expect. I didn't win anything, but I learned a lot. Definitely go early to check out the cars, and don't get caught up in the bidding war.
TitleGuru Posted 30/08/2024 Share Posted 30/08/2024 On title stuff, be prepared for a small delay, usually a few weeks. NC Repo Zone is usually pretty good about getting titles squared away, but it depends on the lender and all the paperwork. Make sure you understand the title type (clean, salvage, etc.) before you bid. If you have any questions about that their support email is info@ncrepozone.com. AuctionFlipper Posted 30/08/2024 Share Posted 30/08/2024 I flip cars from auctions all the time. NC Repo Zone is one of my go-to spots. You can find some real gems if you know what you're looking for. I've snagged some sweet deals on older trucks and SUVs. The key is to have a good mechanic check the cars out and know your max bid. BudgetBuyer Posted 30/08/2024 Share Posted 30/08/2024 As someone on a tight budget, the auctions are a lifesaver sometimes. I got my current car at NC Repo Zone. It wasn't perfect, had a few scratches, but saved me thousands compared to a dealer. Just factor in a little bit for potential repairs. Remember to inspect! CarEnthusiast77 Posted 31/08/2024 Share Posted 31/08/2024 I'm a car nut, and I love going to these types of auctions. NC Repo Zone occasionally gets some interesting vehicles. I grabbed a classic a few months ago. It was a bit of a fixer-upper, but totally worth it.
BuyerBeware Posted 31/08/2024 Share Posted 31/08/2024 I had a terrible experience at an auction, not NC Repo Zone, years ago. Bought what I thought was a decent car, but it turned out to have major frame damage that wasn't disclosed. Always do your homework and don't let the excitement of bidding get the best of you. Take someone with you who knows cars OR get a full inspection.
RepoInsider Posted 31/08/2024 Share Posted 31/08/2024 Quick tip: Check the vehicle history reports! Even at a place like ncrepozone.com, sometimes the auction might not know the full history. A Carfax or AutoCheck can reveal accidents, flood damage, or title issues that aren't obvious. ALWAYS do your homework.
FirstTimeBuyer Posted 01/09/2024 Share Posted 01/09/2024 Going to my first auction at NC Repo Zone next week. Feeling a bit apprehensive but reading all this feedback helps. I'm hoping to get a decent, reliable daily driver and not break the bank. Wish me luck!
GearheadGreg Posted 01/09/2024 Share Posted 01/09/2024 Good luck, FirstTimeBuyer! My advice: set a firm budget and stick to it. Don't get emotional during the bidding. And if something feels off about a car, walk away. There will always be other auctions and other cars.
UsedCarJoe Posted 01/09/2024 Share Posted 01/09/2024 NC Repo Zone can be a mixed bag. I flipped a few cars from them, but one time I got stuck with a vehicle with a busted transmission. They didn't catch it during the inspection. I got burned. It happens. It is always a RISK.
FinanceGuy Posted 02/09/2024 Share Posted 02/09/2024 Financing can be a hurdle with repo auctions. Some banks won't touch them. NC Repo Zone doesn't offer financing, so you gotta arrange your own. Credit unions are usually your best bet. Get pre-approved before you bid. Never hurts to ask!
AuctionAddict Posted 02/09/2024 Share Posted 02/09/2024 I've been going to NC Repo Zone for years. I love the thrill of the auction and the chance to score a great deal. Plus, the staff has always done right by me. I recommend checking them out, but remember, do your research!
DealershipDave Posted 02/09/2024 Share Posted 02/09/2024 I often source inventory for my dealership from auctions like NC Repo Zone. You can often find cars for less than wholesale price. It's not always perfect but an excellent method to secure vehicles.
DamageDiscovered Posted 03/09/2024 Share Posted 03/09/2024 I bought a car from NC Repo Zone a few months ago. Everything seemed fine, but after I got the car home, I found some pretty significant hail damage that wasn't visible at the auction. Called them up, but there wasn't much they could or would do. So, inspect, inspect, inspect! And maybe bring a flashlight.
LuckyLarry Posted 03/09/2024 Share Posted 03/09/2024 I got an amazing deal from NC Repo Zone last year! Snagged a late-model SUV for thousands under market value. Felt like I won the lottery. It helps to be at the right place at the right time! Good luck!
RegistrationRox Posted 03/09/2024 Share Posted 03/09/2024 The title process at most auctions can be time-consuming. Be prepared to wait. NC Repo Zone is normally pretty efficient, but it still takes a while. Make sure you have all your paperwork in order, and follow up if you don't hear back within a reasonable timeframe. Great staff. You can also call them about registration questions to +1 866-930-3429. They are helpful.
UsedCarConnoisseur Posted 04/09/2024 Share Posted 04/09/2024 My experience with NC Repo Zone has generally been positive overall. There are risks, of course, but they are a reputable operation. Just go in with your eyes wide open, do your homework, and don't get carried away by the auction fever!
AuctionVeteran Posted 04/09/2024 Share Posted 04/09/2024 I've been going to repo auctions for over 10 years, and NC Repo Zone is one of the better ones in NC. They are generally fair and are good to work with. They are not flawless, but far better than others I've seen. Check out ncrepozone.com.
